When is the best time to shoot a photo session? You will often hear "morning or evening" and during most of the year, I would agree with that but what about during the summer? Take a look at the temperatures in tomorrow's forecast. 9am is only 78 degrees but 7pm is 91 degrees. In fact, if you were willing to start at 8am, you would be almost 20 degrees cooler in the morning compared to the temperature at 7pm tomorrow night. Now I know that most students are not going to like the idea of starting that early in the morning and 11am or later is often requested. Using tomorrow's forecast as a guide, that would be a difference of 13 degrees or more.

When you get into the high 80's and above, you are likely to sweat more or your parts of your face will turn red. First, you get hot and then your hair starts to get wet, your makeup starts to smear and your clothes start to show your sweat. Not exactly the best results, right? Hey, I will shoot when you want to but I would encourage you to keep this mind if you want the cooler temperatures. Of course that means that you need to get plenty of rest the night before and have all of your clothes and accessories ready before you go to bed.

The early bird gets the worm but the early photo session gets the coolest temperatures.
